Message The TSX owner's manual claims that 5w-20 oil provides year-round protection and is the only recommended weight.

My 2 points:

1. Oil has improved substantially since 1989. In 1989, I bet the average 5w-20 (if you could find any) sheared more than today's quality 5w-20.
2. Engine tolerances have generally improved since 1989. Without knowing the tolerances for a new engine, I would follow the manual. 5w-20 may be the ideal oil weight (even for performance use) for a new TSX.

I've waffled back and forth on oil weight for my Z32. Most certainly oil has improved since 1989, however I'm not sure if that completely invalidates our FSM recommendation.
